Wicked diving - newest staff member - Karin Sundelius

We are welcoming home Karin Sundelius (and Freya) after a maternity leave. Karin brings her strong ethics, quiet strength and a great attitude to the shop. Freya can make poop!

Where are you from?
Sweden
What languages do you speak?
Swedish, English, enough German to eavesdrop and enough Thai to make people think I speak the language
How long have you been diving?
10 yrs
Whats your favorite divesite in the Similans? Why?
Shark fin reef, I tend to see sharks and turtles
Favorite fish?
Gobies and Blennies, they look goofy and no one seems to care too much about them! I also like the critters who stay in the same place as its easier for me to film them....
Favorite food?
(Swedish) Pancakes and cookies
Most memorable dive trip?
On Fiji, a huge amount of sharks in a canyon, and then a cut I had gotten making breakfast that day starts PUMPING out blood (pressure).....
Other interests, hobbies, addictions?
Flowers, planting things and a severe shopping addiction!
What do you do in the off-season?
Work on a golf course and spend a lot of time with my family.

Karin's Latest course in Khao Lak


Here's a great picture of Karin teaching her students how to descend while in the swimming pool.

Most of our courses are small and personal and this one was no different.
With only two students in the academic section and three students in the ocean.



Here is Simon doing a backroll into the pool at the very beginning of his skills.
