The First Similan Liveaaboard of the season!

All aboard!!! The first Similan Liveaboard of the season has just returned and we had a GREAT time!

On  the first day of of the first trip of the season 2012, what a welcome we had to the Similans!!! Perfectly blue skies, calm seas, fresh breeze and excellent diving at Anita's reef where we were greeted by streams of colorful schooling Fusilier, Great Barracuda and Octopus.

Then at Hideaway Bay we had Iraxte and Dani completed their Open Water Course in the company of Boxfish, Pufferfish and Giant Moray. Anna and our Thailand DMT's Liz, George, Reece and John were practicing buoyancy for their dive master course.

We then decided to go for a nice trip to the beach to sample the white sands of Princess Bay on Similan Island 4 to break up the long hard day of diving and eating :) The beaches are in great shape after a long monsoon season and no human visitors :)

West of Eden to finish the day and a unanimous group decision that we all LOVE West of Eden. Our newest staff member, and our luckiest - Choc's group of Sue, Sylvia, George and Trevor  White-Tip Reef Sharks and a turtle! Anna and the DMT's  followed behind and got to see them too! A little bit of current and the fish were going crazy! This dive was such a great end to a great day on the Similans.

In the evening - we intoduced our guests to one of the games we like to play - Angry Toothbrush. For our previous guests you will know(And fear) this game! Immediately we had a small killing spree that then lulled down but who was still alive…..?!! No humans were harmed in this killing spree...

Day two and we had a Wicked hard core day with 4 dives. West of Eden to Deep six where this time Tuk and his group Max, Alex, Lisa and Rowena got to see the White-Tip Reef Shark. We also had a current that was nice enough to do all the hard work for us and float us along to deep six...making for a nice lazy dive :)

Next up was Elephant Head Rock with the ever spectacular boulders which are the size of houses and make for awesome swim-throughs. The creaking of the boulders was a novelty. The way the light plays on these massive boulders and the shadows is always a treat.

Just after Lunch we visited Three Trees with its beautiful whip corals and schools of glass fish treated Jade's group Fabio, Andriea, Hugh and Bram to their second Turtle of the day and well as a tiny Blue dragon nudibranch.

Afternoon naps for nearly everyone but hard working Hugh and Bram studied for their Nitrox course instead and passed with flying colors.

Diving in the dark anyone?
Bangu Bay night divers saw the resident Island 9 Turtle "Emily" happily circling the dive site along with swimming Moray Eels and Octopus.

Final day of the trip started with a dive at North Point. More swim throughs, more Turtles, more Octopus and another great dive. Newly Qualified Nitrox divers Hugh and Bram were able to start using Nitrox having completed their course yesterday.

Arriving at Koh Bon for the final dive of the trip and the limestone island didn't disappoint. This time it was James and Marnie spotting a couple of Black-Tip Reef Sharks and many of the divers saw a sea snake, Giant Morays and Napoleon Wrasse as well.

The end of the trip and Serial Toothbrush killing was in full swing! Iraxte took the crown for being the last alive having killed 5 fellow divers in 20 minutes to take the title of most dangerous with a toothbrush!

Congratulations to newly qualified Advanced students Max and Alex, Open Water Divers Iraxte and Dani and Nitrox Divers Hugh and Bram.

Thank you all for making this trip "Wicked" guys we couldn't have done it without you all.
