Wicked Diving presents the first Instructor Training Course in Khao Lak!

First SSI Instructor Training Course at Wicked Diving

On the 6th of February, Amanda Bond and Karin Gaertner started their SSI Instructor Training Course at Wicked Diving in Khao Lak.

Amanda, from the UK, has been working as a divemaster for over a year now, both on Koh Tao and in the Similan Islands. Karin, from Austria, did her Dive Control Specialist Course at the Gili Islands in Lombok. She has been working as a dive guide in Lombok and in the Similans.

So both of them have extensive experience as a dive guide and are now working to become an SSI Instructor, so that they can teach people to dive in the near future.

This is the first SSI ITC held in Khao Lak and they are being taught by Marcel Bruijs, Instructor Trainer at Wicked Diving.

A lot is expected from them during the 12 day Instructor Training Course; they need to be proficient in various topics on dive theory, training standards

and practice the educational aspects of teaching dive courses. That means a lot of time in the classroom and several water sessions where they learn to evaluate students in the water. Presentations in the classroom, swimming pool and in the open water will prepare them for courses like the Open Water Diver, Advanced Adventurer and Stress and Rescue Diver.
