On this trip our liveaboard headed through the Northern Similan Islands. She visited many of the most famous dive sites: East of Eden, Honeymoon bay, West of Eden, Deep Six, 3 Trees, Donald Duck Bay, Christmas Point, North Point and Breakfast Bend.
Ricky was the fearless trip leader, backed up by Tuk, Karina and Laura.
On this trip Tuk was teaching an Open Water course with Jane. Her boyfriend - Guy gave helpful advice….;)Joining Wicked Diving on this trip were: Chris, Tanya, Kim, Michael, ALexander, Tracy, Corey, Seb, Lisa, Guy, Jane, Germa, Kamiel and Zach.
The weather on the Similan Islands was perfect. The water was smooth, the nearly full moon and cloudless skies made for great diving. The visibility was 30+ meters (100+ feet) with waters averaging 28c. At North point there was a bit of a current, but that only helped work off the huge helpings of Bacon and eggs!

The real highlight of this trip was the sighting of amuch discussed Ray. It could be either a very juvenile Manta or a very large member of another species. We are still researching this - but Laura claims it to be a Manta - her FIRST ONE! (accompanied by screams and lots of jumping about) in 800 dives. Of course it was also a great experience for Jane and Team USA who were all freshly certified divers.
Also spotted were White-tip Sharks, Black-tip sharks as well as Leopard sharks. At least 5 different turtles were seen as well. The lovely Thecacera nudibranch was spotted again. Of course there were plenty of other fish in the sea - but it's all anyone could talk aboutRicky got to exercise his nitrox skills - blending that is! and Karina was happy playing with all the sharks!
To quote Laura "A wicked trip with great divers!"
Tomorrow is our first trip to Richelieu Rock for the season. With the weather calmed down, the conditions so good - we expect an incredible trip report when they return!-Similan Diving
