There was an accident with a diving vessel near Phuket. This boat had been on the way home from diving in our local waters - the Similan Islands - and was only a 90 minutes from the pier in Phuket when it encountered severe weather.
Details of what exactly happened are still unclear, but it is our understanding that the vessel rolled and sank. Fortunately 25 of the 31 people on board the vessel were able to make it to the life raft and then onto safety as local navy and fisherman joined in the rescue operation.
There are, as I write this, still 6 people missing. To them go our prayers and positive thoughts. We hope the very best for them and for their families.
