Similan Islands Liveaboard #30 (07/02/09)

For this trip we had our Irish trip leader Ricky. By his side we had Rich from England, Henrik from Sweden and last but not least ( no wait, she is least) Manuela from Austria. As a bonus we had Sara, our DMT, on the boat to help us out.
Now to the important people, all our lovely guest.
We had quite a few that were on their second trip with us, Claus and Lise from Denmark, Fredrik from Sweden and Jasmine from Canada, welcome back!
Thomas from Germany was doing his Open Water course. Marta from Spain who had a lot going on, finishing of her rescue course, doing a night and navigation speciality.
The fundivers Alon and young Amit from Israel, Johannes from Sweden, Rick and Janis from Canada who sleept in a tent on Island number 8 on this trip.
No, I haven’t forgot two very important people on the trip, the snorkelers Claire and Vicky from England.

First days destinations, Turtle Rock and Beacon Reef. Lots of Kuhl’s Stingray and an Eagle Ray!!! What a start!
Snorkelling to find Nemo and we had great success. Even found his cousin, the Tomato Anemonfish.
Marta was starting her nightdive speciality with a night dive in Donald Duck Bay. The guide had his 100 dive and was leading the dive in bikini, no names mentioned. =)

Early morning and Angel Parinee was setting course for Island number 7 and East of Eden. The Durban Dancing Shrimps were alert in the morning, just as the Octopus and the Multibar Pipefish. Then we moved to the west side of Island number 7 for a big breakfast before it was time to explore West of Eden. A nice drift dive around the boulders together with a couple of turtles.
Time for lunch, yes we eat a lot and the food is great! =)
Moving to north part of Similan, Island number 9 to the dives site Three Trees. What a nice reef dive with both (White and Black tip reef Sharks), Batfish, Banded Seasnake and a Turtle.
Last dive for the day, sunset and night dive in Donald Duck Bay with Napoleon Wrasse, Lobsters, Nudiebrach and Lionfish. Then a cold beer to relax over dinner (waow what a day).

Once again an early morning and it was time to go to the most northern dive site in the Similan, North Point. A beautiful boulder dive site with 30m visibility, Barrucuda, Giant Moray, Lobster and Turtle.
What better than to follow up this with a nice and easy reef dive at Breakfast Bend. Down to the sandy bottom and we found at leat 15 Kuhl’s Stingrays! On the reef we had a Giant Moray, Lionfish, Rockmover Wrasse and Tomato Anemonfish.
The last dive for this trip, Koh Bon. Always a winner with Ghost Pipefish, Octopus and a Sponge snail making its way over the magnificent wall in the bay side.

Thank you for joining us on Angel Parinee and we hope to see you soon again!
Congratulations to Thomas now an Open Water Diver, and to Marta who is now a Rescue and Speciality Diver.
