The first night out - Parinee!

Khao Lak Diving Safari

Our boat is here and we did a test run last night with just a few friends and family. 2 dives at Bon Soong, 1 dive at Premchai - both local wrecks and then another at Khao Na Yak. It was great. We tested all the systems, had some great dives and lots of fun!
Here are the boys setting off a MASSIVE string of firecrackers - a Thai Tradition. It's good luck. And a lot of fun

I can say the boat is 99% ready. We are cleaning the fans, polishing the brass and setting something up for the new flatscreen. But the food was top notch! The boat boys were so helpful and we all spent in the air-conditioned cabins (first time in air-conditioning in months!).

Everyone had fun - the trip was not stressful or in a hurry. The cook brought her new assitant - who brought her grandson. He is very cute. During our first dive, Keith found a snorkel on the bottom. He brought it to the surface. When he dumped out the water - a tiny octopus came out! We popped into this small pastic box (it refused to go back into the ocean). So these two became good friends! (After nightfall the octopus was comfortable going back in the water)

Sunset was perfect, as we had dinner, great covnersation and a nice easy pace. Here's Keith bald head and the sunset...

the dives were great (more pictures of that later). We say Splotched rays, mating cuttlefish, bizarre nudibranchs, a seahorse, sharks, massive jellyfish, tunas, jacks, flatheads, 18 billion lionfish (or it seems that way) and plenty more.

Those pictures will come shortly...stay tuned!
